2010 Tankless Heater Tax Credit

Replacing a traditional tank water heater with a Noritz tankless heater will greatly reduce the levels of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere by at least 700 lbs. per year. By reducing the levels of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere from products we use in the home, we will stop the effects of global warming. Currently, the United States is the world's largest energy consumer in the world, and for that reason is also the largest source of pollution. Our goal is to reduce CO2 emissions and create safe, long-lasting products that will provide consumers with endless hot water at a lower cost. All ENERGY STAR Rate Noritz tankless hot water heater models qualify for the new 2009 water heater category for the Energy Star® program. A Noritz energy star tankless water will achieve around a 30 percent reduction in energy use and save consumers approximately $108 annually, compared to a traditional tank water heater. By switching to more energy efficient appliances and equipment, we can reduce the demand for electricity and cut carbon dioxide pollution from power plants. Energy Star® rated appliances use 7-10% percent less energy than non-rated appliances, and can save the user money throughout the life of the equipment. Earning the Energy Star® means products meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy. By purchasing a Noritz energy star tankless water heater and taking steps to optimize the performance of heating equipment, you are helping to prevent global warming.

For 2010, there is now an available tankless heater tax credit of up to $1500 to individuals who install a Noritz energy star tankless in their home or business. There are three categories of eligibility for the tankless heater tax credit:

• For consumers: home improvements through the purchase and installation of a Noritz tankless water heater
• For homebuilders: installation of Noritz tankless water heaters for new home construction
• For commercial building owners: installation of Noritz water heaters, for new construction or replacement
